Pagkatapos ng Lupin ay muling nakakuha ng proyektong TV Komiks ang Risingstar Printing Enterprise sa GMA-7, this time ay ang Zhaido, Pulis Pangkalawakan. Its initials suggest ZPP, not ZTE. Uhurm!
Bukod sa Filipino ay may Cebuano edition; it appears to me that the Rainbow network is now targeting the Visayan market since their ‘mula Apparri hanggang Jolo’ jingle does not hold high water anymore. Wowowee!
I would say it’s a much better deal dahil sigurado ang kita ng RPE, but it’s one venture I heavily disagree. It’s not because I’m an ABS-CBN guy, it’s just that any free Pinoy komiks right now spells trouble for the rejuvenated komiks industry—especially if the title is a takeoff from a TV series and volumes of copies will reach the hands of the readers at no cost at all. Mahirap masanay ang readers sa libre, baka hindi na bumili ng komiks kahit P10 lang.
But I’m not a part-owner of RPE; I’m working for them on a retainer’s basis, and things like this are the owners call.
You, guys, can have a free copy, or free copies, once Zhaido is printed if you want para meron na naman tayong maokray (don’t worry, RPE’s cool). Just give me a buzz. Siyete wants the project to be completed on or before October 15. Same team (writer and illustrator) are doing it as of presstime—or should I say—blogtime.
